Pout Cosmetics Launch Posted on 17 Feb 21:59

Pout Cosmetics Launch 2016
On Tuesday evening I opened invitations to the Launch of the new Pout Cosmetics range. With sixty colours in the range and the ability to create hybrid shades using their mixer tones in "Yoga" & "Soul" there really is something for everyone. I wanted the evening to be heaps of fun and really interactive where the girls could touch and feel and try on different colours. We also covered some pro tips and tricks on getting the best application, what tools to use and how to pick your perfect lippy.

Val Garland School of Make Up Posted on 04 Oct 21:40

It feels like just yesterday I received the email saying I had been selected out of thousands of people to be a part of The Val Garland School of Make Up. I have always admired Val's work and to have the opportunity to learn from her has been a dream come true. While I am super sad to announce last week the course came to an end I have never been more excited about my future as a make up artist.
The course was designed with a focus on make up in fashion world. We got to work on real life briefs set by amazing designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Matthew Williamson. Exploring the creative process, what to have in your kit and what to expect when working on a big campaign or runway shows. As well as some really cool job opportunities - some of the students just finished up helping at New York Fashion Week.
Exploring the creative process was definitely my favourite part of the course. Knowing where to look to for inspiration and how to make an idea grow and tell a story. My first project was based off my fear of the dark or NYCTOPHOBIA. I got my initial inspiration from the way the TV light shines onto the chrome fan in my room at night creating a neon glow. I played around with black lights and UV reactive paints but we also had to create a modern wearable version of the look. I was so excited when Val stopped on a picture of my work in one of our live Q&A sessions to give me some positive feedback.

My proudest work on the course would have to be from a brief set by iD magazine. I didn't quite nail the brief for the magazine but I got some amazing shots for my book and this shoot was the beginning of an amazing team. My inspiration for this piece was the Circle of Life and how trends repeat themselves.

I learnt so much about branding and marketing and how to use social media to the best ability and even had live sessions with social gurus like Sam & Nic from Pixiwoo and Sali Hughes. Check out my instagram and FB pages set up dedicated specifically to my make up work at and
We had briefs set by amazing deisgners such as Preen, Vivienne Westwood and Matthew Williamson. It was such a challenge learning when to stop, when enough is enough while still giving yourself a point of difference and nailing the brief some of which required alot of research.

We learnt all about assisting and what to expect backstage at runway shows and I even got the opportunity to apply for some amazing job opportunities including being Vals assistant. Good news for you guys I didn't get the job so I won't be leaving the country just yet. I really feel like I have a place in the make up world now and have a clearer vision on where I want to go. I am so proud I pushed myself to do this course and take it all in and I thank Val and the Mastered Team for the amazing opportunity.

Where The Wind Takes Me Posted on 25 Aug 22:17

I was lucky enough recently to shoot with this stunner Maree Mitchell - can you believe this was only her second shoot. She is such a natural. I just love her face those freckles are just to die for.

My key products here were Becca Skin Perfector in Pearl and Moonstone, VaniT Mineral Colour Stick in Berry Parfait and VaniT Lipstick in Vamp all available for purchase at Luminosa.

It was a crazy windy day up the hill in Toowoomba which made for some really cool shots. For this look I used a base of Becca Ultimate Cream Liner in Romanesque to get a really good depth of colour on the eye and added VaniT Mineral Colour Crystals in Midnight. I just love a super dark smoky eye.

Special thanks to my team  and of course to Lucy's Magazine for featuring our work.
